#1. Is Jasmine S35 really a Super Beginner Acoustic Guitar?

Let’s start by talking about the time that I purchased and unpacked Jasmine S35 first.
Frankly, when I bought Jasmine S35 a year ago, I’ve not been a beginner anymore. I had a Martin and a Taylor and I just wanted to buy one more for jamming and traveling.
I did expect an easy-to-carry-on and affordable guitar which should sound nice. Some best guitar brands came to my mind but I was not sure which guitar is good for the money.

“Oh no, I never ever want to waste my money for bad guitars.”

Then I watched a short video of a man playing this guitar, and what’s up? Jasmine S35 completely had me.
Read reviews carefully again for sure, I realized that I would like to give my future Jasmine baby some tweaks.
Well, adjusting guitar action and strings was not that complicated and if after that this very cheap guitar would sound like exactly what I heard in the video, it’s worth for me to give it a try!
So I decided to order Jasmine S35 from Amazon. Deep down, I can’t wait to unpacking the box.
#2. Surprise as Unboxing my Jasmine S35 Acoustic Guitar
My Jasmine came to me in a plastic bag, inside a box. I thought shipping without a case is partly the reason why Jasmine S35 was so cheap.
Jasmine S35 – expected as the beginner acoustic guitar for the low price. Well, what could I say when holding it?
Let’s start with my Jasmine S35’s pros first
This guitar’s color and its solid appearance were so beautiful that I just forgot to check other features for a while. It was pretty good-looking with a spruce top.
Jasmine S35’s back & sides are made from laminated nato, which is similar to a high-quality wood called mahogany, but it’s less expensive. “It may help to explain why this acoustic guitar was both quite good and cheap”, I thought.
The next impression was its pretty slim neck with a 12 radius fretboard. Thanks to this feature, it’s very easy for people who always find it hard to form big chords at the beginning like me.
The next big pros that made me felt in love with this guitar was its satin finish. To be honest, I had spent hours in music stores nearby before, and I hate uncomfortable experience with glossy finish guitars.
You may ask why? Yup, because it’s not as easy for you to slide your hand through a glossy neck as through a satin one. Jasmine S35 was so different.
Smooth to the touch. Smooth to the ears
Its fretboard was satin and Rosewood so my hand could easily slide through the neck. As a guitar beginner, you should pay attention to this feature of both cheap and expensive acoustic guitars.
When trying to play the fingerstyle, I found that Jasmine was designed with a larger spacing for strings that it’s very comfortable for player’s fingers placement.
It’s such an awesome deal while most guitars with the same features are not as much affordable as Jasmine S35 was.
So how’s about the sound?
Yeah, what’s a big surprise for a guitar at this price range. Don’t like other guitars which are under $100, Jasmine s35 sounds very vibrant and clear.
But before it sounded perfect as I wanted, I had to give it a little fine tweak. It’s also the biggest cons of this acoustic guitar which I’m going to point out below.
How did I tweak my Jasmine S35 guitar?
As I said at the beginning of this post, there are some complaints about Jasmine S35 cheap strings and high action when it comes out of the box.
In fact, my Jasmine’s strings were not too bad, it sounded a little bit buzzing. And luckily, I didn’t have to do anything with Jasmine S35 saddle. Its action is quite acceptable.
But no matter how the guitar’s strings were, I would like to use my favorite strings so I also bought a new set of Elixir strings on Amazon. Then I carefully replaced the old strings with the new set.
If you are totally a beginner, you would like to have someone experienced to adjust it for you or simply watch the video below. Remember to slack your strings before replacing them.
You can guess how stunned I was this time when I played my Jasmine S35 after the setup. It sounds surprisingly awesome for a beginner acoustic guitar on a low budget.
I still remember someone’s reviewed that with the right setup, Jasmine S35 could sound like very expensive Martin or Taylor, and I totally agree with him.
Even when someone complains that Jasmine’s action is too high, having its saddle adjusted just costs you some bucks. And Jasmine S35 is still a super good deal in comparison to an expensive guitar.

Guess what?
Sometimes I even gig with my Jasmine S35 acoustic guitar now. It’s not only a cheap guitar which is only intended for beginners but it satisfy even experienced guitar-players.
I have no regret when buying Jasmine S35. Great sound, nice looking, portable for jamming, traveling and extremely affordable price with just a little tweak.
Moreover, it can go with you for years.
